Eagles fly to 5th straight win

BC fought off Vermont’s first-period onslaught with some great goaltending from Spencer Knight to register their 5th straight win 3-0 last night. The Eagles moved to second place in Hockey East with the win as UMass Lowell was upset by UConn last night. BC has played one less game than UML as well.

Spencer Knight holds off Vermont in first period

Aapeli Rasanen is on his way to most improved player of the year as he registered his 5th goal of the season on a chip in of a David Cotton shot midway through the second period to put the Eagles up 1-0. Patrick Giles scored off a perfect feed from Marc McLaughlin on a two man breakaway short-handed goal to expand the lead by two goals. Highlights can be seen here.

The Eagles move to 7-4 overall and will have 9 days to prepare for a huge 4 game stretch of non-conference games that begins with a Nov. 26 home game vs Yale. BC then faces undefeated Harvard on the road, and two very tough games vs. Notre Dame (#5) one at home and one in South Bend.
