Eagles streak to 5-1 win

The most compelling theme from this 4 game winning streak is that BC is playing Eagle hockey. Vermont was outmatched by the speed and skill of BC and without sturdy play from goaltender Stefanos Lekkas-this is a 9-1 game.

The highlights were many. Freshman Mike Hardman continues to impress with a goal and an assist, and Alex Newhook is now tied with David Cotton after scoring his 5th of the season.

The top line of Hutsko (goal), Julius Mattila (2 assists), and David Cotton (1 G/1A) flashes red lamps game after game. There is no question that this line is one of the top lines in college hockey and there is no doubt that the BC attack is going to be difficult for any team to contain.

The BC 4th line of Marc McLaughlin, Patrick Giles (1st game back from injury) and Zach Walker (1 assist) is emerging as another threat. Freshman Matt Boldy has played great hockey while not yet unleashing the scoring that is likely to follow. Tonight is a rematch with Vermont, and the Eagles should maintain the same pace. Ahead lies a challenging 4 game stretch that includes:

Tuesday -Nov. 26 Yale @ Conte forum

Friday-Nov. 29 @ Harvard (#13) (NESN)

Friday-Dec. 6 Notre Dame (#4) @ Conte Forum

Sunday-Dec. 8 @ Notre Dame (#4)

The Eagles are now in 3rd place in Hockey East with a chance to climb over Providence for second place with a victory tonight. UMass Lowell could only salvage a tie with UConn last night and is currently in first place. The race is on and I hope everyone enjoys the fun and excitement.
