Boston College Hockey recruits 2020

1) Tim Lovell (D)  5’ 6” 135  Des Moines Buccaneers-USHL. Hingham, MA native. Turns 18 in February. 2 Goals, 6 assists in 16 games this year with Des Moines. Ranked #179 (7th round) U.S. skater for the 2020 NHL draft.    Lovell is a dynamic player who can create offense with his skating and playmaking.  Formerly committed to Ohio State while he was only 5’1”.  Lovell was recruited actively by BU and Northeastern but chose BC.  Lovell can run the powerplay and fill a need as BC Senior Defensemen-Finkelstein, Moore, McInnis and Jesper Mattila graduate this Spring.

2) Colby Ambrosio (F) 5’8 170-Tri-City, USHL. Welland, Ontario native who turns 18 in August. 17 goals, 15 assists in 33 games.  10 powerplay goals. 9th leading scorer in the USHL. Ranked #82 (3rd round) U.S. skater for the 2020 NHL Draft.  Ambrosio has great speed, a quick release and one of the top offensive players in the USHL this season.  The Canadian Junior Hockey league made an unsuccessful attempt to sway Ambrosio away from his commitment to BC.

Wilder was ranked #14 among goaltenders prior to the 2019 NHL draft.  He is having a great season at Hotchkiss from all reports.  Wilder will be an important addition to BC squad next season as Ryan Edquist graduates this Spring and there is no experienced goaltender behind Spencer Knight.

7) Jack Agnew (D) 6′ 200- Chilliwack Chiefs. Oakville, Ontario native. Turns 19 in October. Considered a smart two-way Defenseman with very good offensive production. 8) Mike Posma (F) 6′ 174-Cedar Rapids-USHL. Pomona, New York native who turns 19 in December. Has 5 goals and 5 assists in 29 games this season. Posma put up big numbers for the Kent School in 2018 season with 21 goals in 27 games and impressed BC with his play at the Beantown classic in 2019. Formerly committed to Air Force.

9) Stephen Davis (D) – 6’ 185  Madison-USHL Hingham, MA native. 1 goal, 2 assists in 27 games with Madison.  “He crushes people” is the scouting report I heard from a local coach in Boston.  Davis has been suspended twice by the USHL for head contact penalties this season. Hopefully, Jerry York can refocus this kid toward staying out of the penalty box (37 penalty minutes to date).  Davis showed some offense in 2018 season with Boston Advantage when he scored 9 goals and 17 assists. He could arrive at the Heights in 2021 depending on his progress relative to the needs of the team.
