UMass upends BC 3-1

BC certainly had their chances to extend their win streak to 11 but UMass goalie Filip Lindberg blocked 41 shots to seal the 3-1 victory. Alex Newhook registered the lone BC tally on a terrific breakaway shot to tie the game at 1-1 but the Eagles were unable to convert on key chances despite outshooting the Minutemen 42-24.

Alex Newhook robbed in second period bid

Alex Newhook played a monster game last night and you could see the determination right from his opening shift. Newhook has terrific acceleration and I expect his offensive game to explode this second half of the season. He finished the game with one goal and had a game-high 7 shots. Highlights can be seen here.

Newhook, Matt Boldy, and Jack McBain all had great scoring chances thwarted in this entertaining game. UMass forward John Leonard converted on a costly BC turnover to put UMass up 1-0 in the first period when he deftly beat Knight on a clean breakaway.

Eagles simply need to convert on their scoring chances tonight in the rematch game at Amherst tonight. The game will be televised on NESN+ at 7:00 pm.
